Colin Richardson on365 Managing Director
Colin Richardson, Managing Director

Colin formed on365 (known as Universal Power Systems until November 2007) in 1984 to meet the growing user demand for UPSs to be supplied with higher levels of pre and post sales support.  Starting with just two employees, it became one of the first companies to meet this demand for continuity of support.  In the first year turnover exceeded £100K and has steadily grown since then.

Prior to this Colin had worked for the BBC, Loughborough Consultancy, the commercial arm of Loughborough University and Gould Inc, a major US-based UPS supplier. .

Chris Smith, Sales & Marketing Director

After completing his training as a technical apprentice with Zenith Electronics Chris moved to sales where he became product sales manager.  Spells at the Phillips Corporation in their high volume power supply division, Hinchley Electronics and for UK UPS manufacturer, Powernetics Ltd then followed. In 1989 Chris set up Savin UK a joint venture with Savin Electronics, an Israeli manufacturer of UPS systems. The operation quickly grew to a turnover of £4 million with many blue chip clients. In 1994 Savin UK merged with Universal Power Systems (now on365).
