Ask Eric which UPS? By specifying a group of devices you need to protect, from a single workstation to a server room to an entire datacentre, Eric will estimate your power requirements, allow you to specify your required runtime and other options, and recommend a single UPS solution. Make sure the equipment you specify is in close proximity, as a UPS can only protect the equipment if the power cords can reach it. Equipment not in close proximity is considered another group. How does it work?

Eric determines the power draw of your equipment by asking you about your system and then drawing upon his extensive knowledge of actual power measurements for equipment and peripherals. In addition, Eric also knows the actual power consumption of all computer components such as processors and disk drives. This allows Eric to determine your load power requirement. Eric requests your preferences for run time, room for growth, and specific features you want. Eric has a mathematical model of every APC UPS in his photographic memory that describes the product limitations and the run time of the UPS vs load. Using all of this information Eric can recommend the APC products that best match your requirements. Eric is even smart enough to assemble combinations of APC products including battery packs and other accessories to match your needs.
