Datacentre Design

on365 provide expert design and build advice and services to deliver energy efficient Data Centre and server rooms. on365 provide
comprehensive space, layout and capacity planning to support efficient
cooling, modular growth strategies combined with maximum airflow
separation. We ensure that fundamental physical build and location
criteria are addressed during the design engagement as well as
compliance with appropriate CDM, Building Regulations and Planning
Approvals.
on365 is committed to helping
clients reduce carbon emissions through the deployment of best practice
energy efficient Data Centre design. on365 is an approved Endorser for the European Commissions "Code of Conduct for Data Centre Efficiency".
on365
has extensive experience of Data Centre design to ensure business
continuity and maximised uptime. We have the necessary people and tools
to understand both the technical and practical issues involved for your
business, its people and its IT infrastructure requirements. This
understanding extends beyond taking care of design, safety, principles
of operation, future growth and after-sales services. More importantly,
it looks at value and basic business principles such as ‘return on
investment’.
We offer a full pre-sales consultation at which one
of our experienced specialists will carry out a comprehensive audit and
survey at your premises to establish your exact needs. We look at
everything from surge protection to existing set-ups. We also review
power and cooling for optimum performance and maximised uptime as well
as pinpointing any particularly vulnerabilities. We will then design a
system to suit your requirements.
Planning
The
Data Centre design or server room design process starts with your
management staff determining the business's Data Centre or server room
objectives and availability requirements. We follow with a thorough
survey of the existing systems and facilities. We then work with the IT
staff and the facility staff to identify and quantify the Data Centre or
server room project needs and combine those with our understanding of
the trends and migrations strategies required to adapt to future
changes. Finally, we develop a conceptual Data Centre design or server
room design from which we develop construction budgets and schedules.
Simplicity
A simple Data Centre design is easier to support, administer and use. on365
label everything—network ports, power outlets, cables, circuit
breakers, their location on the floor - there is no guess work involved.
When a machine is set up, this gives the advantage of knowing ahead of
time where the machine goes and where everything on that machine should
be plugged in. It is also simpler to verify that the work was done
correctly. Since the locations of all of the connections to the machine
are pre-labeled and documented, it is easy to record the information for
later use, should the machine develop a problem.
Flexibility
Nobody
knows where technology will be in five years, but it is a good guess
that there will be some major changes. A Data Centre must support fast,
seamless, growth, and deployment of new services without a major
overhaul of its infrastructure and without a major disruption to its
operation. A Data Centre designed for flexibility can adapt to changing
business conditions and thereby the demands put upon its function. At on365 we make sure that the design is flexible and easily upgradeable which is critical to a successful long-term design.
Modularity
Data Centres are highly complex things, and complex things can quickly become unmanageable. on365
use a modular design approach to allow us to create highly complex
systems from smaller, more manageable building blocks. These smaller
units are more easily defined and can be more easily replicated. The use
of modular systems within the Data Centre’s design, where the
characteristics of the modules are known and the steps to add more
modules are simple, is an excellent method for achieving flexibility and
to address growth requirements without major disruptions.
Technology Expertise
on365
hold Elite, Service and Integrated Software System partner status for
the Data Centre from APC by Schneider Electric. We are also
ISO9001:2008, ECA, HVAC, REFCOM F-GAS accredited and Cisco, Microsoft
and VMWare certified. on365 is an endorser of The EU Code of
Conduct for Datacentre Efficiency and is a member of ASHRAE. Our
qualified Project Managers and design team ensure that our in-house
skillsets, covering electrical, air conditioning, maintenance, service,
repair and software integration, deliver solutions that meet our clients
expectations.
